A Classic Combination: White + Blue
Traditional and timeless: incorporating the color blue into your home creates a look that will remain forever tasteful.
When we first met the Turner family in Plymouth, their yellow painted cabinetry paired with their yellow-toned hardwood flooring left them with a less than sunny feeling about their kitchen.
Kitchen & Dining room before
With our homeowner already having her dream kitchen in mind, we immediately got to work.
Mouser Custom Cabinetry and local talent, Rocco
Our work began by taking down the wall between the kitchen and dining space, allowing our homeowner to more than double the size of her kitchen island. Removing the wall also allocated space to design custom built-ins to maximize storage and include in a beverage fridge and floating shelves to maximize wine drinking potential. One can never have too much storage. Or wine, for that matter.
Floating shelves designed in Quarter Sawn Oak
Back in the kitchen, we paired the perimeter cabinetry in Mouser painted maple “icy white”, selecting an “indigo” blue island in matte. The white-blue cabinetry combination is one that so easily pairs well with some of the other design elements selected, including the gold accents in the hardware, lighting and plumbing, the white subway backsplash and the beautifully contrasting new hardwood floors.
Adding blue to this kitchen added a touch of drama to this space, yet provided the perfect complement to the airy-open concept kitchen and living spaces. By the time we were able to come back to the space post quarantine, our homeowner (with an incredible eye for design herself) had filled the space with the most incredible custom furniture pieces, swoon-worthy lighting and most adorable additions (both 2 and 4 legged!) to enjoy her new kitchen with. Thank you for allowing us to bring your dream to a reality, Turner family! We hope your kitchen brings you many years of happiness, great memories and of course, good wine.
